PARAMUS requires regulation due to the potential misuse.
The software is not available to the public.
- The system is classified as limited-risk category (without LLM training), because its functionality is based on predefined LLM models. (Available in the U.S. and E.U.)
- PARAMUS becomes a high-risk system when LLM training is enabled or custom LLMs are used, as it may autonomously generate novel chemical structures, synthetic pathways, or reactive conditions, including those with toxicological or dual-use potential. (Available in the U.S. only.)
This elevates the need for regulatory controls to mitigate misuse and ensure responsible development. (see: Availability)
High-Risk (U.S. only)
Chemistry: Permitting Requirements
You need a professional commercial or academic lab environment and the necessary permits to run PARAMUS.
We only provide PARAMUS to companies or universities that are verified by a U.S. key institution overseeing your chemical activities. Examples are: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or state-level agencies (e.g., California Department of Toxic Substances Control).
Artificial Intelligence: Regulatory Compliance
Compliance with the U.S. AI Act (forthcoming federal regulations on AI governance) and the Colorado AI Act (SB 24-205, regulating high-risk AI systems) is required to ensure responsible AI deployment in regulated environments. Organizations must adhere to these frameworks, including transparency, risk mitigation, and ethical AI use, as outlined in official sources such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework (nist.gov) and the Colorado General Assembly website (leg.colorado.gov).
→ Relevant verifications must be presented.
Availability
For use within the EU, the copilot functionality requires documented proof of AI knowledge.
We provide the LLM / AI part only within the United States. Due to complex questions in EU regulation it is currently not available in the European Union. *) U.K. and Switzerland may be on request.
PARAMUS is not available in other world regions.
