SR. COUNSEL LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION

The Sr. Litigation Counsel position offers a unique opportunity to represent the SpaceX business in a variety of litigation matters with a focus on labor and employment both in the United States and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all facets of litigation with a focus on labor and employment disputes but with opportunities to expand your portfolio to include consumer contractual commercial or other kinds of legal disputes
• Conduct internal investigations; support discovery efforts; draft and review discovery requests/responses pleadings and briefs; direct litigation strategy; and negotiate settlements
• Identify legal risks and mitigate them by designing and implementing controls

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Experience litigating labor and employment disputes

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience leading litigation of labor and employment matters including in court arbitration and administrative proceedings (e.g. EEOC NLRB)
• Meaningful first or second chair trial experience
• Specialized knowledge of California labor and employment law (Texas Florida Washington State also helpful)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experienceeither in-house or through client relationshipsrepresenting high-growth companies
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clients
• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
• Must be admitted to the bar in good standing in at least one U.S. State
• This position is based in Palo Alto CA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
