Medical Coder (Edits) – CPC Required

Location: Greenville, SC (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday (Flexible Day Shift)

Pay Rate: $23 - $27 / Hour

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to review and correct provider-assigned coding, resolve claim edits, and support revenue cycle operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate CPT, ICD-10, and coding compliance while serving as a coding resource for providers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, correct, and recode provider-assigned CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Resolve claim edits, including NCCI, LCD, and NCD edits.
  • Analyze payer reimbursement discrepancies and prepare appeals for underpayments when appropriate.
  • Respond to provider coding questions and provide coding guidance.
  • Explain coding decisions to Customer Service to support patient inquiries.
  • Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Qualifications

  • CPC certification required.
  • 1–3 years of professional medical coding experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, NCCI, LCD, and NCD guidelines.
  • Experience with claim edits, reimbursement analysis, and coding compliance.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred (Epic experience is a plus).

Schedule

Choose one of the following:

  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
  • 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch)

Additional Information

  • Location: Greenville, SC (Onsite)
  • Type: Contract-to-Hire
  • Training: Two-week onsite training (may extend based on individual needs)
  • Target Start Date: August 17
  • One onsite interview required.
