The Data Center Crew Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising, training, and working alongside technicians who install structured cabling and security systems in data center environments. This position serves as the primary field leader, ensuring that all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with customer specifications, while actively participating in daily installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
ResponsibilitiesYou will join a team that values hands-on technical expertise, strong field leadership, and continuous development of its people. The organization promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration, where experienced technicians can grow into stronger leaders and expand their skills in structured cabling, security systems, and data center technologies. You will have the opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical projects, contribute directly to high-quality installations, and help mentor the next generation of technicians in a supportive and professional environment.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based primarily in data center environments, where you will work on structured cabling and low voltage security systems, including copper and fiber optic infrastructure, access control, and CCTV. You will spend most of your time on active job sites, performing physical tasks such as pulling wire, routing and terminating CAT5 and CAT6 cabling, installing devices, and using hand and power tools appropriate for low voltage installations. The schedule typically follows standard construction or project-based hours, with work organized around project milestones and daily work plans. You will participate in regular job site safety meetings and are expected to follow all site rules and OSHA requirements. The environment is highly technical and process-driven, with a focus on clean, organized installations and adherence to project drawings, specifications, and documentation. Dress and personal protective equipment will align with typical construction and data center standards, including appropriate work attire and required safety gear.
