job summary:
Great client is seeking a Lead Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to drive plant safety and direct daily EHS operations. Partnering closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, you will establish local, state, and federal compliance, develop proactive safety policies, and mentor on-site safety staff. Candidates must have at least 1 year of direct team-lead or supervisory experience supporting others on a daily basis, and a deep working knowledge of OSHA standards.

responsibilities:
- Direct, coach, and assign daily workloads for on-site EHS staff while tracking performance metrics and development goals.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001 standards to ensure an accident-free work environment.
- Track key performance indices (injury logs, lost days), analyze site risks, and lead root-cause incident investigations (5Y, Fishbone) through EHSIP tracking.
- Manage LOTO, machine guarding, confined space, hazardous waste handling, and air/wastewater permit compliance.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years in a team lead or supervisory role with direct experience leading daily EHS reports
- 4+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing plant or warehouse setting
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or Engineering (Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical)
- Must be expierenced with OSHA standards, ISO 14001, LOTO protocols, and safety data tracking
- Ability to speak and present to large groups of people, including customers and executives.
