Job Description

This role involves performing physical construction labor and demolition work on a variety of commercial building projects, with a strong focus on cleanup and material removal at multiple school sites throughout the summer. You will handle the removal and disposal of building components and debris, support the crew with general labor tasks, and maintain a clean, safe work area while traveling independently to different job locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform demolition and cleanup work in commercial buildings, including school projects, throughout the summer.
  • Remove and dispose of walls, ceilings, floors, studs, doors, windows, mechanical systems, and other building components as directed.
  • Carry, load, and dispose of construction debris and materials into dumpsters in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Use hand tools such as shovels and other basic tools to assist with demolition, debris removal, and site cleanup.
  • Sweep and clean work areas using brooms and other cleaning tools to maintain a safe and organized job site.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Remain on your feet and stay actively engaged in manual labor tasks for the entire shift.
  • Work effectively in hot conditions and adapt to varying site environments while maintaining productivity.
  • Travel independently to multiple job sites as scheduled, ensuring timely arrival and readiness to work.
  • Follow safety guidelines, use required protective equipment, and comply with all site rules and procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the entire workday.
  • Proven capability to perform continuous manual labor, including demolition and cleanup tasks.
  • Comfort working in hot conditions and in commercial building environments.
  • Ability to remain on your feet all day while staying productive and engaged.
  • Experience using basic hand tools such as shovels and other simple demolition tools.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to different job sites as required.
  • Ownership and use of steel toe boots for job site safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with demolition work in commercial or construction settings is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and their removal during demolition is an advantage.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take direction and stay busy throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
